Kate Bramley’s new comedy for her Badapple Theatre company is a warm-hearted tale set in the 1960s. Having lived through the 60s is not necessary for complete enjoyment, but it helps - or you can take your mum along. Eddie is a village milkman who becomes a pop star but his identity is kept secret. His songs, from Jez Lowe, are redolent of the period and catchy. They are enjoyably and stylishly staged but cry out for audience. Included in the multi-tasking cast is Robert Angell, a fine actor respected by colleagues and audiences alike. He sets the comic pace. Jonny McPherson is the eponymous, pleasingly naive hero and Kaitlin Howard his sparky love interest.
